The Next Circle of Hell

It’s been said that people go insane in groups, but come back one by one. They better start making that return trip soon.

I promise I didn’t intend for these essays to become “Covid Update”. But I write what’s on my mind. And for the last year…and especially the last few weeks…I despise what current events have put there, so I keep trying to get it off.

As anyone who knows me can attest, I deplore conflict, and try to avoid argument. It produces anxiety, can damage relationships, and is usually fruitless. But, of late, it seems that each day there’s a new nightmare…and it’s time to wake up.

All around us, the society we once knew is collapsing. The foundation is crumbling, and the walls are closing in. But, like Alec Guinness blowing up the bridge, the destruction is intentional. For a year and a half, our “leaders” have been falling all over themselves to land on the detonator.

Our oppressors have had enough of even the pretense that their subjects have rights. They aren’t happy with the way some people exercise the few they’ve been allowed to retain. So our overlords are ready to take the last remnants away, and to close any escape hatches they might inadvertently leave. We can have our freedom…as long as we do what they say.

Few things are more personal than someone’s health. Our heredity, our genetics, our past medical treatments, and our subjective risk profile inform the decisions we make, the medicines we take, and the extent to which they improve or preserve our well-being.

Science and technology are recognizing the individual nature of this sensitive subject. But as advancements in these fields enable precision medicine and targeted treatment – with remedies tailored to the specific needs and nuances of each person – politicians, corporate executives, and “public health” bureaucrats have decided that a single solution is right for everyone, that these enlightened paragons know what it is, and that the rest of us should all be forced to take it.

Personal value judgments and individual risk assessment are not to be tolerated. That some people may consider the risk of these “remedies” to be greater than the impact to them of the disease is irrelevant. Those determinations are no longer theirs to make.

Instead, universal directives come from people with unwarranted confidence, yet no competence, to treat a few hundred million unique individuals they’ve never met and know nothing about.

The corrupt charlatans and criminal con-artists who created the Covid catastrophe will now dictate to every person the medical decisions he must make…because of a virus with an infection fatality rate of less than a quarter of one percent.

This isn’t smallpox. It’s not the Spanish Flu. For most, it’s not even the seasonal flu (tho’, given the testing flaws, many cases likely were the seasonal flu). Hysterics aside, no one choosing to refuse shots is putting anyone who takes them at any added risk. This is well-orchestrated propaganda, and an intentionally divisive farce. If shots work, requiring them is unnecessary. If they don’t, it’s pointless.

But these despicable despots…who demolished economies, destroyed millions of lives, and decimated society with the reflexive indifference of a shoe sole on a cockroach…have the gall to scapegoat those who’ve opposed this destruction all along, and who remain reluctant to fill the latest dictatorial prescription.

They are demonizing and shunning anyone with the temerity to make health decisions at odds with the one-size-fits-all superstition of “The Science”. The latest demonization stipulates that this new variant…which is being spread to and by people regardless of injection “status”…is now a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”. 

This deception is maintained in part by evaluating Covid data since January. For the first several months of that period, very few people were vaccinated, so of course most deaths would be among those who weren’t. As is so often the case, the data may be factual, but it’s not truthful.

But this is typical of the disingenuous messaging we’ve come to expect from the public health establishment. Yet even now…especially now…Americans are being conditioned to view the “unvaccinated” the way the Soviets saw the kulaks. And many seem inclined to treat them that way.

As confidence in the shots wanes, the campaign to subject everyone to them accelerates. One reason is doubtless the urgent impetus to eliminate an inconvenient control group that exposes the fraud. Another is to force compliance before the seasonal “surges” naturally subside in free places like Florida, so the ruling class can take credit for the decline. Meanwhile, simultaneous “surges” in heavily masked and vaccinated West Coast localities are largely being ignored.

But how is this variant actually spreading? Hard as it is for most to admit, we don’t really know. Yet in many recent “outbreaks”, vaccinated people comprise a preponderance of new cases. Is there no curiosity about this? Or is it more important to blame those who don’t follow orders for the spread of a virus that couldn’t care less about how we behave?

At this point, Covid is endemic. No matter what we do, it’s not going away. We’ll all likely get it or one of its strains, as many have already, just as most of us get the flu…and with similar results. As with that annual virus, the vulnerable can take precaution, and everyone should be left alone to live as they please.

This isn’t supposition. This is experience. We’ve seen for eighteen months who this affects and how. This isn’t to dismiss the disease or minimize its potential impact. My father-in-law died of Covid, and my step-father is suffering a severe bout right now. But what most of the rest of us are suffering is a deficiency of perspective.

The “experts” who have been wrong throughout this ordeal confidently assure us that this latest variant is a new reason to panic, batten down the hatches, and roll up our sleeves. Meanwhile, on Monday, in a country of 330 million people, in a supposed “surge”, 720 deaths were attributed to Covid.

Given an epidemic of reporting errors, that is likely a high estimate. Yet we are full-speed ahead violating people’s privacy, trampling their rights, and threatening their livelihoods over a threat that for most is vastly exceeded by the risk of the car ride to get a shot.

Hospitalizations have increased, including among kids. But the majority of them aren’t admitted with Covid. They only catch that after they arrive! Most are entering the hospital with RSV (to which lockdowns likely contributed), then catch Covid, which presents little risk. But their original diagnosis is changed to reflect the more lucrative ailment. This drives up meaningless “case counts”, adds more hysterical fuel to the pyre of fear, and drives calls for more restrictions and new requirements.

But for all we know, the vaccines may amplify risk of new variants and wider spread. There are strong indications that natural immunity is far more effective combatting this virus than is a novel fabrication that focuses only on a single protein.

As the virus adapts to dodge the artificial infusion, it mutates into new forms, driving a diffusion that is nonetheless irresponsibly and maliciously attributed to those who aren’t jabbed. Notwithstanding the assuredness of our authorities, a lot is being studied and much is uncertain. But the snide imputation that the unvaccinated are driving spread isn’t “science”; it’s sinister.

And now…like a vindictive Virgil guiding a demoralized Dante…this misplaced blame (as usually happens when a government scapegoats one group to cover up its own failure) is leading us down to the next circle of Hell.

Government agencies, “private“ corporations, and educational entities are coming…needle in hand…after the hold-outs. Over the last couple weeks, even as evidence of vaccinated transmission mounts, these organizations have ramped-up their campaigns to do anything short of (at least so far) strap people down and insert the syringe. They tried the velvet glove. It’s time now for the iron fist.

New York City announced last week that no one will be able to enter restaurants, theaters, or gyms without proving they’ve consumed novel products from large pharmaceutical companies that aren’t legally liable for the consequences of their concoctions. Other Western cities are considering similar measures to implement medical apartheid and impose “health” segregation. Some are already enforcing it.

In Paris, le gendarme is infiltrating sidewalk cafés, like termites thru Louis Philippe mahogany. There they butt in, interrupt perfectly good drinks and pleasant conversation, and demand patrons prove they’ve injected one of the stipulated pharmaceutical products. The last time this sort of thing happened in Paris, the people asking for the papers weren’t speaking French.

And this is just the first phase of an escalating assault. If our filthy recalcitrants still don’t get with the program, do as their told, and “voluntarily” receive their shots to “prevent” an ailment that 99.7% of them would (or already did) survive, who’s to say that supermarkets, public parks, or private apartments aren’t the next places from which they’ll be precluded?

Who knows? Maybe Amazon will stop delivery to rebels who don’t comply with the regime? We’re already seeing companies terminate or reduce pay for those who don’t submit to the shots. Perhaps hospitals and doctor offices will require all patients be injected before any treatment will be offered. The principle and the precedent are being set. In most places, it’s being welcomed.

The US government assures us it won’t mandate “domestic passports” based on medical decisions people make. But it doesn’t have to. It can simply lean on “private” companies to do its dirty work, using threats of anti-trust sanctions, withheld funds, denied contracts, legal liability, or a host of other coercive cudgels.

As it eviscerates the First Amendment by intimidating Tech companies, it can dismantle the Fourth by pressuring the rest. The Federal Government will insist it is merely “encouraging” corporations to ensure people take their medicine…for the “Greater Good”…but it’s not “requiring” anyone to do anything. Yet in this case it’s safe to assume that, like George Washington’s wooden teeth, the government’s bark is the same as its bite.

Places of employment, government and “private”, are already turning the wheel and tightening the screws. As if a coordinated memo went out, more and more are suddenly requiring shots as a condition of employment.

Many employees have good immune systems, and don’t want to risk compromising them based on bullying from an employer. But for financial reasons, many may have no choice. Others simply won’t buy what their betters are selling, and will wait to be fired. The fall-out will be interesting to watch, particularly given who it might impact most.

Blacks, Hispanics, and immigrants are among predominant groups who’ve shunned the potion. Many are refusing because history makes them justifiably suspicious of any medication the entire Establishment pushes on them. 

Others may have natural immunity from a previous case of Covid. As Civil Liberties attorney Jenin Younes reminds us, large numbers contracted it while preparing and delivering food and supplies to the hypocritical hypochondriacs who spent a year hiding under the bed, and who now want to exclude their saviors from society. 

Under the new edict, skeptical minorities would be disproportionately denied access to (and employment in) many of the places they kept in business last year. Unless they take a gene-based injection, they’ll be deprived their source of income, their “key to the city”, and their place in society.

Were this the result…intentional or not…of other policies or regulations, such “disparate impact” on minority groups would prompt vigorous protest and likely repeal. That should be the fate of this monstrosity as well.

Beyond the Hudson, more and more corporations and universities are imposing similar requirements to work or enroll, creating a two-tiered caste system while compelling employees or students to choose between their potential livelihood and what they think is best for their health. 

These edicts are tacit admissions of what we see before our eyes: that these “vaccines” are not as effective as we’ve been misled to believe. Yet that won’t stop companies telling employees that they must take a drug to keep their job.

Despite popular sophistry, these mandates are in no way comparable to previous requirements for other vaccines. For one, these new edicts coerce people to inject a “vaccine” that isn’t a vaccine, and is still unproven.

The last nine months have essentially represented the clinical trial, only it’s been conducted on most of the population. The trial started late last year. The errors are becoming apparent now. Meanwhile, the FDA is receiving political pressure to expedite approval, without the years and data such a blessing would normally require.

Moreover, as should by now be obvious, the risk from Covid isn’t remotely comparable to that of polio or smallpox. If it were, compulsion and coercion wouldn’t be needed. Fewer people would decline these shots, because the risk equation would be much different.

Even advocates admit these injections don’t accomplish what only a month ago they assured us they would. At that time, they told us these serums would almost certainly protect those who took them from contracting or spreading Covid and its variants. We’re now learning they don’t do either. But we’re suddenly being informed that these short-comings were to be expected, when six weeks ago we were assured the opposite. 

The party line now is that those who contract Covid or Delta after receiving the shots suffer less than they otherwise would. Maybe. Seems reasonable, and perhaps true. But it’s no more than a comforting assumption, and also a convenient one, since it’s impossible to prove.

These shots entail risk…which is fine. People should have the prerogative to take them if they feel the opposing risk is more substantial. But it’s perfectly reasonable for others to prefer to decline or wait for the jab, based on their personal health situation and individual risk profile. Somehow, after the hysteria of the last year, this common sense observation is now a controversial notion.

It’s been known for a year that this virus ebbs and flows on its own tide, no matter the edicts our imperial Canutes decree, or the rigor with which the rubes follow them. The effort to eradicate Covid and its cousins is not only futile, it’s deranged. The impulse to do so is causing inconceivable collateral damage that is destroying society and creating generations of germaphobes and a culture of neurotics. And it’s all based on a “science” worthy of entrails, hot coals, and leeches.

By now, it is abundantly clear that the point of the vaccination campaigns isn’t to facilitate better “public health”. Rather, the “vaccines” are the point. Those who are reluctant to take them will continue to be singled-out, harassed, and threatened till they do what they’re told. The idea is to keep squeezing the fruit till the juice goes in.

Good health is not about the monomaniacal avoidance of a single virus and its many mutations. That’d be like saying vehicle performance is all about not running low on diesel fuel. That’s not entirely true for any car, only partially true for some, and completely false for most. Human health, even more than car maintenance, is comprehensive. Many interconnected conditions, pieces, and parts must be taken into account, to a degree that differs with each make, model, and vessel. Put the wrong thing in the wrong one, and it won’t run.

It’s irresponsible for anyone, even the quack doctors in whom we’ve invested unwarranted Olympian status, to presume to tell millions of people they’ve never met which medication they must take. Doctors should provide information based on their experience and expertise. But deciding what to do with it is not their place. That it is an individual value judgment no “scientist” or physician can make.

Even if these new fluids were perfectly effective, and the risk from Covid much higher than it is, none of the outrages being perpetrated or proposed would be justified. Our liberty is not negotiable. But aside from that, freedom is not the enemy of good health. It is a prerequisite for it, and correlates with it. As liberty corrodes, health erodes. Around the world, the rust is spreading, and the prospects are bleak.

Once we all have a phone app to track our “vaccination status”, what else will it be used to monitor? “Climate change” and the “illicit” activities (like enabling and enjoying civilization) that presumably cause it are the most obvious rationale for coming crackdowns, but they’re by no means the only ones.

How hard would it be to preclude travel, employment, financial services, retail sales, wholesale procurement, or medical treatment to those with “dangerous” opinions, who teach their kids the “wrong” things, who buy unapproved items, who don’t properly separate their trash, who drive the “wrong” car, who use the “wrong” pronouns, or who resist the official “remedy” when the next plague comes along (as it now seems to every other day)? A government-issued tracking app…issued under the guise of safety, and including something akin to the potential Chinese Social Credit Score…would make it easy.

The gun-sights of “The Science” are now trained on those resisting the dystopian surveillance state. At some point, they will turn toward its short-sighted supporters. But when the compliant cattle come into focus, it’ll be too late to break from the herd. 

Will the rule-followers, meddlers, and those who “are all in this together” then realize what they’ve wrought? Or, in the name of safety, health, and “Greater Good”, will they continue to bow their head, bend their knee, and salute their own firing squad?
