Emaciated Patience

“I understand your anger at those who haven’t gotten vaccinated.”
– Joe Biden, President of all the Americans
Well, I guess it wasn’t “just a mask” after all.
The other day, after a year and a half of turning the dial, the Covid Regime made the water a lot warmer. But will the frogs finally feel the boil?
Thursday, the President of the “united” States took it upon himself to furrow his brow, wag his finger, and scold 100 million people for not putting into their bodies what his back-stage ventriloquists want him to ensure they put in their bodies.
In what may be the most condescending, contemptuous, and contemptible speech a president has ever given, this dementia-addled Deep State hack unilaterally decreed (among other things) that businesses must coerce employees to take vaccines to protect people who’ve taken vaccines.
As he does all he can to instill and perpetuate division and anger, El Jefe tells us he and his government understand the “frustration” the vaccinated feel toward the unvaccinated. His patience, he ominously informs us, is wearing thin.
No politician should ever feel this comfortable issuing such veiled threats to the people he “serves”. Who the hell does he think he’s talking to? And who the hell does he think he is? If his patience is thin, ours is emaciated.
For eighteen months, Americans cowered in fear, relinquished their dignity, and did what they were told. They stayed home, closed businesses, “sheltered in place”, kept apart, wore masks, deprived their children, avoided loved ones, swabbed their nostrils, cancelled weddings, restricted funerals, skipped heart diagnoses, cancelled cancer screenings, lost friendships, worked remote, severed families, sunk into isolation, suffered depression, and succumbed to despair.
And it’s all been in vain. None of it did a damn bit of good. As these charts show, it was predictably futile, and had no measurable effect on Covid cases, hospitalization, or deaths. Like most any government-orchestrated efforts, these dystopian distortions are a complete waste of time and money…at least for the vulnerable citizens they’re ostensibly meant to “protect”.
Not that there weren’t beneficiaries. Well-connected insiders in the tech, financial, and pharmaceutical sectors made out like bandits. And there, as always…providing the guns, driving the getaway car, and taking its cut…was the government.
But all along, Americans were assured by a couple half-wit presidents and their “public health” goons that vaccines were the ticket out. Once available, these medical miracles would allow masks to come off, freedom to be restored, and life to resume. So, understandably, sleeves went up, and shots flowed in.
By summer, anyone who wanted to be injected had ample opportunity to do so. Those who didn’t were content with their choice. If the vaccines really protect those who receive them, that should have been it. Everything should have immediately re-opened with all restrictions lifted, as if none of this nightmare ever happened.
If the shots work, forcing them on everyone is unnecessary. If they don’t, it’s pointless. Despite the blame the architects of this disaster are trying to shift to those who didn’t follow orders, there is no justifiable rationale for forcing syringes into everyone’s arm.
But like defense contractors after the Cold War, the Covid industrial complex won’t willingly hop off the gravy train. They need to be pushed, and the tracks blown to bits. Unfortunately, the engineers keep stoking the engine, with far too many compliant Americans guarding the rails and providing more coal.
As with the CDC eviction moratorium President Trump promulgated last year, this presidential power-grab is nakedly despotic and blatantly unconstitutional. And inserting a bureaucratic intermediary like OSHA does nothing to lend it legitimacy.
The US government has no authority to tell private businesses or landlords who they can’t hire or must fire, to whom they can rent, or to stipulate what medicine employees must take. If the government can prevent a landlord from collecting rent, it can also preclude him from offering a lease. Not just to the unvaccinated, but to any group it declares dissident.
But at this point, constitutionality makes no difference. Almost everything the US government does is unconstitutional. Elected officials don’t care. And most Americans don’t either. This is about power, not principle.
Egregious as this edict is, we’d hope no one is still naive enough to think it’s the last one. Or that it’s application will be confined to Covid. Incremental despotism will continue, even if the steps grow larger.
There are many ways to keep squeezing the vaccination vise. University funding can be withdrawn, interstate travel can be prohibited, and TSA clearance can be made contingent on the jab. Even banking could be banned to those who won’t expose their arm and bend their knee. Obviously, none of this would be legal. But so what? That hasn’t stopped them so far.
The smug and sanctimonious among the vaccinated should know that the precedent and power of dictatorial decree will eventually be turned on them, which is why the principled vaccinated know this must be resisted and defied. If not now, when? If not this, what?
After 9/11, the US government…talking to us as if we were a bunch of infants…expected us to believe that terrorists attacked us “because of our freedoms”. Then, as now, our freedoms were blamed for their folly. So, they did what they always do: they took more of them away.
For two decades, the government protected its people by turning on the usual suspects: us. Like a snowball down a mountain, the restrictions and surveillance rolled on, and built up. Now, the Covid flakes have produced an avalanche. The bio-surveillance State is here.
It was always juvenile and absurd to think terrorists attacked us “for our freedoms”. But on the twentieth anniversary of a horrible day, it seems inconceivable anyone could possibly still think that’s a reason they would do so.
