The Great Resist

The most improper job of any man, even saints, who at any rate were at least unwilling to take it on, is bossing other men. Not one in a million is fit for it, and least of all those who seek the opportunity.
– JRR Tolkien
Despite all we should’ve learned the last couple years, a disconcerting number of people seem to be getting dumber, more hysterical, and increasingly authoritarian.
That’s a lethal trio.
After spending Thanksgiving stuffing our faces, overcoming the tryptophan, and clearing the dishes, we woke Friday to a story in The Guardian.
There we learned that UK sources claimed a new “variant” from South Africa poses “a potentially significant threat to the vaccine programme which we have to protect at all costs.”
Remember when the “vaccine programme” was supposed to protect us rather than the other way around? Unfortunately, not enough of us realize that when government says “we” must do something at all cost, that means “we” are usually the cost.
The vaccines were initially sold as a “ticket to freedom”, the way to “get our lives back.” Instead, they’ve become a path to oppression, a source of estrangement, an excuse for segregation, and a lever of state control.
Like the supreme sacrament in a depraved cult, the intravenous eucharist is now being pushed not as the primary way out, but as the only way in. And woe to those who prefer to leave.
Heretics who decline communion are to be shunned, shamed, and excommunicated. As penance, they will be denied ability to work, to attend social gatherings, travel without hindrance, and partake in most activities that are the natural rights of a free people.
Why, after piles of evidence and all this time, do so few people reject the premise or see the grift?
Days before the Guardian article…in what was no doubt an unrelated story…South Africa’s government halted orders of the Pfizer vaccine, reportedly for “lack of interest.”
Hmmm…
Then, as if on cue, from the Cape of Good Hope came “Omicron”, which (as many have observed) is an anagram for “moronic”, a symptom this mutation seems to transmit with remarkable rapidity.
It’s interesting that new variants “emerge“ whenever panic starts to wane, or vaccine vigor appears to wither. Not that the novel strains aren’t real. As with any virus of this type, mutations should be expected. But, like an October surprise before a November election, they tend to become general knowledge only when they most benefit particular interests.
Some, including Dr. Luc Montagnier, French virologist and 2008 winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine, stipulate that the vaccinations themselves are creating the variants. As bacteria maneuver around antibiotic medicines, so viruses can outflank vaccines, which force a targeted virus to evolve to survive. Per Dr. Montagnier:
“There are antibodies, created by the vaccine. What does the virus do? Does it die or find another solution? The new variants are a production and result from the vaccination. You see it in each country, it’s the same: The curve of vaccination is followed by the curve of deaths.” Our Nobel Prize winner continues:
Mass vaccination “is an unacceptable mistake. The history books will show that, because it is the vaccination that is creating the variants… I will show you that they are creating the variants that are resistant to the vaccine.”
As to Omicron, Dr. Angelique Coetzee, Chair of the South African Medical Association and the doctor who diagnosed the strain (in a patient who didn’t even know he had Covid), noted that the bug had been flittering around southern Africa for months, and was initially identified in Botswana. In a stroke of endearing naïveté, this Sisyphean woman then tried to add humble perspective to the hyperbolic cauldron of “The Science”.
Dr. Coetzee reminded us that the variant has hospitalized no South Africans nor made any of them seriously ill. She acknowledged that there is more to learn about this novel strain. But South Africans are accustomed to new variants, so when a new one popped up, her peers and politicians hardly took notice.
But where’s the power, plunder, and profit in that? Have they never been to Davos? Being humble is no way to boss others around. These innocent Praetorians clearly have much to learn about stoking public panic to pick people’s pockets.
For instructions from top-notch experts, they need only look beyond the oceans and to the north of their continent.
The Austrian government is using the pretext of the virus to imprison their people via house arrest. Ursula Van Der Leyden, head of the EU, decided to fortify that tyranny by suggesting the European Union essentially dispense with the Nuremberg Code.
Down under, Australia’s way ahead of her. There, those with positive cases and “close contacts” are hauled into “voluntary” Covid camps. Last Tuesday, three inmates of a Northern Territory compound scaled the fence and “escaped” (a strange way to describe people leaving a voluntary arrangement). They were captured, tested negative for the virus, and returned to custody. Another victory for “The Science.”
The Germans in the 1930s had something called a “Gesundheitspass”. As of this week, Germans in 2020s have one too.
This “Health Passport” allows the Teutons to leave their homes only if they can show proof they’ve dutifully received their state-mandated medication. Residents of the earlier Reich thought that if they complied and did what they were told, they’d be fine. They did, and they weren’t.
All of which is to say…the Germans should probably sit this one out.
Not that the Americans should be on the dance floor either. They’ve spent two years tripping over themselves, breaking furniture, and injuring everyone in sight. It’s time for the music to stop.
Unfortunately, the needle remains stuck on the same tired tune. Shots are implored, masks are advocated, lockdowns are urged, travel is impinged, threats are made, treatments are ignored, and dissent is disallowed. It’s like someone keeps pulling the string on an incorrigible Chatty-Cathy doll.
It’s as stupid as it is surreal.
As one commentator noted, the ‘civilized’ world enacted restrictions due to a variant that’s already prevalent everywhere, and that we only thought to investigate because a physician noticed that her COVID patients were exhibiting milder symptoms than usual.
Another observed that for restricting travel from China, the previous US president was called a racist by his successor…
…who is now restricting travel from Africa.
The greatest imaginations in Western Literature, or on Eastern opium, couldn’t make this stuff up. We are living thru scenes that Tolkien would think too deranged to develop, and Carroll too preposterous to invent.
Anyone who still thinks the insane measures being imposed in the name of this virus are at all about “health” or “science” is irredeemably delusional.
Science, as Will Durant put it, begins as philosophy and ends as art. This pandemic theater has had none of these. Our despotic playwrights skipped philosophy entirely. Science is on the marquee, yet kept off-stage. Art isn’t available at all, except perhaps as black comedy.
We’re deep in a pit of pure propaganda, which is the antithesis of art (except perhaps the modern variety).
Art is rich, deep, and uplifting. It calls us to higher things, to think about more than what’s right in front of us, and to consider wider realms: where we’ve been, why we’re here, and what we hope to become. It carries us to new places and noble experiences…outside ourselves, and beyond our time. It prompts conversations with our ancestors, and provides insight to those yet to come.
Whereas art is beauty, propaganda is brutality. It is to art as rap is to music, or post-modernism is to architecture. It recruits lesser minds and baser motives. It is shallow, immediate, and animalistic, defiled with vile manipulation and vulgar indoctrination. Rather than leaven inspired imagination, propaganda triggers instinctive emotion. It degrades, pulling us into the mire, and consuming us in the mud. It leads us into a quagmire of incivility and the quicksand of depravity…which is where we now seem to be stuck.
The entirety of the official Covid response has been just such a sty. And given the state of things, we’ll need to keep wearing our hip boots. Whether they’re criminally incompetent or their motives nefarious, the psychopaths who’ve done this damage will never admit their errors, assuming they think they’ve committed any.
I’ve said throughout this fiasco that it isn’t about “health”, nor about Covid. It’s about control…and how our overlords plan to exercise it over us. Climate change is the next means by which they’ll attempt to do so.
Be it with corporate carbon decrees, household energy constraints, restrictions on travel, or limitations on what we can eat, they’re coming. And it’s all in the name of a nebulous “Greater Good”, always defined by those who insinuate that our individual freedoms are the source of common woes.
They aren’t the first to do so:
But, like diamonds in a dung-hill, there are glimmers of hope.
Each weekend, protests fill cities around the world. In America, federalism and separation of powers are beginning to reassert themselves. States are fighting or ignoring unconstitutional edicts. And more people are becoming wary of being perpetual human pin cushions. Even US courts are starting to push back. And if the Covid Regime crumbles, the Climate coup will struggle to rise.
As the “Great Reset” rolls on, the Great Resist takes root. It needs to be nourished. The Constitution wasn’t adopted to except times like this. It was ratified specifically for them. When governments claim “emergency powers” to rescind our rights, that is when our guard should be highest, and our liberty most jealously preserved.
But not everyone needs to man the barricades or storm the gates. There are simple things we can all do, such as quietly ignoring the lunacy, asserting our rights, and living a normal life.
We should engage and glory in activities we once took for granted, but that were (or might yet be) taken from us. We must resume them without constraint, and never again willfully forgo them before they can be stolen. Let us meet in person, see shows, travel the world, drive cars, dine out, eat meat, drink wine, read books, tell jokes, visit friends, share thoughts, shake hands, give hugs, love family, get married, buy a house, have kids, worship God, stay free…
…and be happy.
